Autumn West is one of the co-founders and artistic directors of Cincinnati Chamber Opera. A soprano originally from Chicago, Illinois, West was educated at Northwestern University, where she received her Bachelors, and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where she received her Masters. West is currently pursuing her Doctorate coursework at CCM, and serves as a voice GA. West is a consummate artist, active in the fields of performance, education, and arts administration.
West is a versatile performer with experience in opera, oratorio, and recital repertoire. Highlights of her career include the role of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Galatea in Acis and Galatea, Clarice in Il Mondo della Luna, Sister Berthe in The Sound of Music, The Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel, Amy in Little Women, The Baker's Wife in Into the Woods, Grace in the Cincinnati Premiere of Daron Hagen's The George Washington Suite, and Aurora in the world premiere of At the Other Side of the Earth. West has also appeared in concert as the soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Magnificat, Schubert’s Mass in G, Vivaldi’s Gloria. West has appeared internationally as an artist with the Opera Theater and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy, and with the Institute of European Studies in Vienna, Austria. West is also a passionate and committed music educator with experience teaching students of all ages. She enjoys teaching a private studio of over 40 students across the Cincinnati area. Her students have been accepted to prestigious programs such as Interlochen Center for the Arts, Brevard Music Festival, the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts, Cincinnati Children's Theater STAR Program, and more. They routinely place in local, regional, and national competitions, and many have gone on to major in voice, musical theater, or musical education at some of the top schools around the country.
